A headless CMS

A headless CMS keeps your website's words in a database with no website attached. A developer builds the site separately to read from it. To change the site you type into an admin screen and press Preview. Contentstack, one of the biggest, said in February 2026 that this makes marketers "guess how their content will look until they hit a separate preview button"; their answer is a visual editor added on top once a developer has set it up. For a large team publishing to a website, an app and a kiosk at once, it is the right tool.

yoflow

yoflow is a website editor and builder on your own GitHub, Cloudflare and AI accounts. You make the changes yourself on the page, or instruct your AI. The site stays in your accounts.

The three biggest differences

What you look at while editing

yoflow: Your page.

A headless CMS: An admin screen, with a preview if your developer set one up.

Who builds new pages

yoflow: You or your AI.

A headless CMS: A developer.

Where the site lives

yoflow: Your GitHub and Cloudflare accounts.

A headless CMS: Their database, plus hosting for the site your developer built.
